Where to look

Check the beach on both sides of the lighthouse. Look for gravel left by the storm at the foot of the cliff and for places where a slump has spilled fresh material. Turn stones over while they are wet.

What you can find

belemnites, sea urchins in flint, limestones with corals

Best wind: N, NW

Rules and safety

The cliff is prone to slumping, especially during a thaw and after rain. Do not climb the slope and do not stand under overhangs. Check with RDOŚ in Szczecin whether your stretch is protected. Pick up loose finds from the beach, not from the cliff.

About the cliff

Niechorze has a lighthouse above the cliff and a stretch with clear slumps. The cliff profile shows glacial till and sand, and in hollows there are lake deposits and peat. The stones with fossils come from the till and gravel.
