Forest: pine and fir forest and mixed woodland on the Roztocze uplands and in the Sandomierz Basin
Season: Chanterelles and birch boletes appear from July. The main period for cep and bay boletes runs from August to October.
Rules
Picking mushrooms in Roztocze National Park (Roztoczański Park Narodowy) is banned, and the forest lies right next to it. The same ban applies in nature reserves. Always check the signs at park and reserve boundaries.
About the forest
Puszcza Solska (the Sol Forest) spreads around Biłgoraj, on the border of the Sandomierz Basin and Roztocze. It is a mosaic of pine forest, fir stands and mixed woodland. Being next to Roztocze gives it varied, hilly ground.
