Where to look

Search after storms from the south-west and west, in the seaweed strandline. Amber is rarer here than on the southern Baltic.

Wind and waves work best from: SW, W, S.

Local rules

The right of public access (allemansrätten) lets you pick up loose finds on the beach, but nature reserves have their own rules. The Måkläppen sandbank by the point is a reserve with a seasonal access ban; check the dates with the County Administrative Board of Skåne.

About the beach

Falsterbo is at the end of the Falsterbo peninsula, the south-western tip of Sweden. Long sandy beaches surround the peninsula on several sides.

Do not miss the next window

The best windows last a few hours: after a storm, after rain, on a clear night with an active Sun. Sign up and we will email you when the index at your spots goes above 60.
