See the pre-saleWhere to look
Search on the sea side, on the beach beyond the forest, in the strandline after storms from the west. Amber Bay on the lagoon side is a historic site, not a beach for collecting.
Wind and waves work best from: W, NW, SW.
Local rules
The whole spit is a national park. Go onto the dunes only on marked paths, and in the Nagliai and Grobštas reserves stay on the trails and the wet part of the beach. Confirm the amber collecting rules with the park directorate.
About the beach
Juodkrantė is a village on the Curonian Spit, inside Curonian Spit National Park. On the lagoon side is Amber Bay, where amber was dredged from the bottom in the 19th century.
Do not miss the next window
The best windows last a few hours: after a storm, after rain, on a clear night with an active Sun. Sign up and we will email you when the index at your spots goes above 60.
