See the pre-saleWhere to look
Search the edges of meadows in the Supraśl and Sokołda valleys and where trails cross streams and ditches. Moose keep to wet alder carr, so their antlers often lie at the edge of the bog rather than in the pine forest.
Species
red deer, roe deer, moose
Season: Moose shed from November to February, red deer from February to April. Snow lies longer here than in western Poland, so the peak search time is usually April.
Terrain: spruce and pine forest, alder carr and peat bogs, Supraśl and Sokołda valleys
Rules and closures
Nature reserves are excluded, because collecting antlers is banned there, and the forest has many of them. Outside them, do not enter wildlife refuges marked with a no-entry sign and do not disturb animals (Arts. 26 and 30 of the Forest Act).
About the area
Knyszyn Forest is a large forest east of Białystok with red deer, moose and roe deer. Supraśl lies right in the middle and is a good base. The area is a landscape park, and there are many nature reserves inside the forest.
