Season: Moose shed from December to February, mule deer and whitetails from January to March, elk from March to April. Search in April and May.

Rules and closures

Removing antlers is banned in Canada's national parks. Alberta's hunting guide notes that a shed antler that is legal to sell within Alberta may not be legal to sell to buyers in the US. Before you go, check the rules with an Alberta Fish and Wildlife office and do not enter private land without permission.

About the area

Sundre lies in the Rocky Mountain foothills of Alberta, on the edge of large public (Crown) lands. Elk, mule deer, white-tailed deer and moose live here. Banff and Jasper national parks are further west and are excluded.
