Rules
Hungary's 2009 forest act lets you pick up to 2 kg of mushrooms per person per day without a permit in unprotected state forests, for your own use only. Larger amounts need the forest manager's consent. In Bükk National Park, especially in strictly protected zones, picking can be banned or need nature authority consent, so check with the park directorate.
About the forest
The Bükk is a limestone mountain range in northern Hungary, with the largest beech forests in the country. Much of it is Bükk National Park. Damp beech woods give boletes, chanterelles and parasols from summer to autumn.
