Look in mossy spruce and pine along the trails from Lenungshammar, by the lakes and on the edges of bogs. Winter chanterelles grow in autumn in damp spruce, chanterelles in open forest with birch. Take care on soft ground in the bogs.

Rules
Allemansrätten lets you pick mushrooms with no limit, also on private land, but you may not enter gardens or damage crops. Glaskogen is a nature reserve with its own rules, so read the signs at the entrance. Leave protected species alone.
About the forest
Glaskogen in western Värmland is one of the largest nature reserves in Sweden, with forest, lakes and canoe routes. The pine and spruce give plenty of chanterelles and winter chanterelles. Värmland is one of the most forested regions in the country.
