Rules
In Slovakia you may pick mushrooms for personal use. Most of the Kysuce Protected Landscape Area is at protection level 2, but picking is banned in reserves at levels 4 and 5. Illegal picking in protected areas can bring an on-the-spot fine and an administrative penalty.
About the forest
Kysuce is a hilly region in northwest Slovakia, by the Polish and Czech borders. Its Beskid fir-beech and spruce forests give cep, chanterelles and plenty of honey fungus. The region includes the Kysuce Protected Landscape Area.
