Where to look

Search the fine glass gravel at the water’s edge and the hollows between the stones, best at low tide.

What you can find

green, brown, white, fine glass gravel

Best wind: S, SW, SE

Rules

The beach borders industrial land; do not enter fenced sites. Endangered Hawaiian monk seals rest here: NOAA advises staying at least 15 m (50 ft) away. The glass is dwindling, so photographs are the best souvenir.

About the beach

Glass Beach is in the industrial area of ʻEleʻele, next to Port Allen on Hanapepe Bay. Glass worn smooth over the years has collected between the basalt stones.
